DMZ doesn't have another name.

I know that it is your modem. Portfoward.com lists modems and routers, not just routers.

Do a firmware update.

Look at the other listings of the different versions of the 3341 listed on Portforward.com because the last one has a different interface. Maybe that one is yours?

***EDIT***

After further research, I believe I have found the firmware version you are using, and the term they use for port forwarding is "Pinholes" which is located in the Advanced section.

Here is the relevant portforward.com page I believe you need.

Here
is the Netopia Reference Sheet found on their website, using a simple google search, recommended in my guide numerous times. Reference sheets will always tell you how to port forward. In the PDF, a ctr+f search for "port forward" led me to the info I needed.

From looking through the Reference sheet, I do not believe this modem supports DMZ. Use the Pinhole form to manually enter the XBL Ports used.

Well, Scott helped me do this, and told me you cant DMZ through your modem and only your router, which when I further think about it, makes sense.

So I went to the DMZ section of my router, and it only made my NAT strict for some reason. Neither of us could figure out how or what to do to fix it, so I just set it back to normal.

Eh, it was worth a shot.

Incorrect. There is an option to DMZ host in your modem, lol. At least some modems.

I went through my modem settings, and so did Scott, and there wasn't.

Yet there was in my router, just like 99.99% of them, and it only made my NAT strict.

Then forward your ports on your modem to your router's ip address, don't DMZ it. Then DMZ host your 360 on your router.

One more reason not to listen to Scott.

Most routers, and many modems have a DMZ option, but you don't HAVE to use it. You can manually forward the required ports through your MODEM to your router, and then DMZ/PF those same ports in your router to your 360, as ThaggleS said.

I would read, and follow the instructions from my previous post.

Indeed, don't listen to me.

This is a good guide, a lot better than my quick one. In mine I haven't explained that you need to DMZ your router through your modem - I didn't even know this was possible. The UK doesn't use modems and routers separately anymore. At least if you're using DSL, which most of the country is (there is only 1 cable ISP). We have routers with modems built in, so we only have 1 firmware page to deal with. I'd never even thought of accessing a modem's settings page.

Years ago when I was using an Actiontec Modem -> Linksys Router Setup I had read that you can PF through both, but I couldn't figure out how. After many hours filtering through Firmware settings and doing port checks I finally figured it out. Let's just say I thanked the Holy One more than once, for I could finally connect and HEAR everyone on XBL.

America needs to move on to routers with built in modems.

Most modems ARE also routers, but a lot of us like to hardwire devices, thus we need to expand the network more than where the ISP installs the Modem.
