Posts: 198  | Besides disconnecting from the chat when the game starts and making sure there are no other programs using bandwidth, are there any other ways to reduec ping? I'm also using the port forwards for my router too.

Posts: 667  | Most times, ping cant be lowered unless you are already doing something you shouldnt be (downloading something, using up a lot of RAM on your computer [through recording for montages, for ex]) Ping is basically what you get from computer to computer, so you would have to either move to a closer area to the person you are playing with, or go to a different computer.

Posts: 49 | Bullcrap dude you are so full of bullcrap. I cant stand it when people are so stupid they talk like they know it all when they know nothing. Only way to lower ur ping is like everyone is saying shut down all programs that are using bandwidth and thats about it besides getting a better connection. Getting a better connection will help drastically. If the host has an extremely good upload speed it will help drastically. For instance. A friend of mine went from 700k down to 1200k down. On 700k down his ping was a constant 90 ping. Moving up to the 1200k it is now a 70 ping all the time. Not bad really as long as you are below 80 ping (when it comes to xbc) you wont lag too terribly bad in halo 2, halo 1 is a different story. | |||||
