Strategy is not "go this way" or "go that way". It's more got to do with experience. I've been playing for a long while. I've been to many, many LANs, driven many, many hours in cars to go to these and I've noticed people always have different strats that work some of the time. But the point is that it's about reacting to your opponents. What are you going to do on Dammy when they're in rox-pit looking up at inviz waiting for you to jump for it. There are many things you could be doing.


Timing is like the single biggest retard-mistake-maker. A lot of kids start hanging around the general area of things 10 seconds before it comes up. On Priz, most of the time I don't even bother looking, I just throw two grenades at red ladder 2 seconds before inviz comes up and invariably there's some trigger-happy kid waiting for his Inviz there. When you start playing against better and better kids you'll notice that it's NOT who's there first... it's about who's prepared enough for it.


Grenades... no, not a lot of people use grenades properly. But that's okay since grenades are so plentiful in 2v2s.


Jumping. If you can jump of out rox-pit on Dammy without using a ladder and do it quickly while battling (no taking your time to line up the jump), then you have jumping abilities. If you can jump out of the rox-pit backwards while pistoling someone, then you're elite.


Mental concentration is guranteed for those with ADD.



Yeah, dozens of tournaments where I've played against hundreds of different talented kids. Some of my friends have broken 50 tournaments.



Trust me, there is a big differential. There are kids out there that will make you feel like you're playing YMCA basketball versus their Michael Jordan talent.

Hate kicking your off your throne. I know you hold yourself in high regards, but the simple fact is that people get PAID to play this game. They take is soooo very seriously that they drop out of school (Zyos, Tsquared) to play this game.



I just don't like people coming in and saying they're hot sh.t when all they do is beat their friends, never experienced *REAL TOURNAMENT SKILL* and start talking themselves up. I'm sure you feel like you're on top of the world and undefeatable. THere are many kids like you out there. I've known a bunch from MLGPro.com. One kid got a single kill on KillerN at a private LAN and suddenly he talked about how amazing his skills are.



Honestly, you can't be good unless you play A LOT and play against other great players. It's as simple as that. Wayne Gretsky, Michael Jordan, and Peyton Manning didn't get good by sitting at home practicing with their friends in their backyards all day. They played against the best and learned from the best. If you look at Pingkerton, OH. Five or six really amazing Halo players have come out of that town. Why? Because they all played each other so much and all traveled to tournaments with each other. It's isolated in that it's not isolated.

Do you ever play off-host? Because I saw a kid on XBC last from Mexico who was hosting. My ping was 280ms to his host. Just to give you an idea of how bad that is...

Good ping = 40 to 50ms
Alright = 60 to 70ms
Okay = 80 to 90ms
Bad = 100 to 150ms
Horrible = 150 to 200ms
Horrendous = 200+

We'll play 2 games on your host and then 2 games on my host.
