K so i got Xlink set up and i have some issues. i understand that halo1 is laggy on xbox but i think this is a bit much. when im playing more than 75% of the time my screen is a stobe light. my MC moves frame by frame across the map and when i try to shoot soeone, im drea before i can even aim do to this. when im not walking thorugh a strobe light, ill pistol/snipe someone, ill start, then my whole screen freezes (but i can still move my scope around) then i come back and im dead. is there something wrong with my settings or someting? is there a way to optimize my internet signal. I use the same internet for my comp, and my xboxlive and i NEVER have porblems. suggestions?

It may just be your xbox freezing up/bad disk.

I don't think it could be a bad disc. If the game loads then your disc is good. You can't really have 'settings' on halo xbox. You just sort of put the game in and play. I suggest not using any other internet applications on your computer or any computers plugged into the same router. If you must have things open keep it minimalized.
Also, when the game starts don't rush the pre-game counter. Just press A once and let it count down from 30 seconds to game start. I don't notice a difference from that but kids say it decreases lag.

It lets the xbox's sync. It does prevent lag, and can definately only be in benefit.

I'm pretty sure only the last 5 seconds are what matter, though.

That could allow for a higher latency between the client and host.
