well i currently just found out about this section like 15 minutes ago and i was reading a few threads about similar things but my situation is a little different then most of the other threads. i originally posted this in the wrong section i would hope that i can get some help in this section.

this is the original post i had made

hey guys i am going to get a computer and i am sure a bunch of others are looking to buy a computer. i know a little about computers but i would like to buy or build myself a good gaming computer for recording and playing computer games(h2 vista for example). Any suggestions on how to get a computer under 1000$.

If you all could give me your opinions and or ideas on what kinds of computers and things to go into computer.

I didn't check the price but I think that is around 1k. I'm in a hurry so there is a big possibility that I forgot something. The case you can just pick yourself but the Antec 900 is a good one.

thanks man that helped alot but if i were to just want to buy one already made what kind of computer would you recommend for me to get. i was going to just replace the video card and other things.

I would recommend none. Just build it and save a few hundreds of dollars. The parts Big Al listed seem pretty good, you might not want 4gb or ram though, you could downgrade and just have 2gb and save about 40-50 bucks. 4gb would be nice to have, but I don't see it necessary for gaming, 2gb should be fine. You might not need a 640W PSU either, could probably downgrade to a 500-550W and save a bit more cash.
