Burn the CD you want, bring it over to your xbox, and put it ontop of it.

Im pretty sure it works if ur xbox is horizontal or vertical

I usually just throw MP3s on a thumb drive.

I'm not sure if they came out with a patch or not but the only way i know to get songs onto your HDD is to burn them to a disc and rip them to your HDD. If you just want to get songs to play but don't want them on your HDD easiest way is a thumb drive.

By Thumb Drive you mean Flash Drive correct?

Let me try that.

Yea, but you can't transfer the music from the thumb drive to the Xbox. You can only play it.

Right but who cares?
You plug in the thumb drive, press the Guide button, select music, then drive should show up as "portable device."
Select "Play all" then change from linear to shuffle (the button on play bar) and you're done.

It just seems to me that using a thumb drive is more convenient - whenever you get new songs you can simply throw them on the drive on PC and plug it back in, rather than messing around with Media Center.

I never said I cared. I do this myself, actually.

But if he's looking to actually put the music ON the 360's hard drive, this doesn't work.
