Alright so I just got a new comp with Vista and for some reason, it doesn't acknowledge cds when I put them in the disc drive. Usually I would suspect that some window pops up saying what I want to do with the CD or whatnot, but nothing happens. Anyone know the problemo?

Does this happen when anything is put into the drive, or only blank CDs? If it happens with everything it sounds like the cable came loose on the drive.

Actually DVDs work and they're not blank CDs, they're retail CDs.

They might not be the right format for your drive. For example your CD's are CD-R and your drive is CD+RW(bad example but you get the point).

Weird I had a problem just like this a few months ago. It would play DVDs but not games, music cds, etc.

Well, I did this but it still doesn't seem to show up for me. Well thanks for the help anyways.
