There's just as many options for IEMs (in-ear monitors) as there is headphones. There's some really good ones you can get, if you give me a budget.

1. Less than 100$
2. 100% music
3. Rock (in general)
4. No preferred sound signature
5. I would want closed over open but would take either

Ok scott. I want in-ear headphones. I already have my around-ear bose, which are perfect thus far.

I can go $30 budget. I just want good-quality in-ear headphones THAT WON'T BUST OUT, meaning one headphone doesn't work. This has happened to me COUNTLESS times, more than 5 times.

Those are the only guidelines I want. Just for music. Thanks scotty

ps. music genres are techno/trance and rock. I want headphones with good bass

JVC Marshmallow's are the best under $30. You can get them in any store, like Bestbuy. They're also called JVC FX33.

There's two I can recommend here:

Etymotic ER6i

Ultimate Ears Super.fi 3

I'm not sure of the differences, but these and Westone UM1 are the 3 most commonly recommended under $100.

Nah. Unless you want to paint them or something.

I've never been one to care what headphones look like so I'm not sure.

Their price on the site isn't what they usually charge. Click the "Send me the TTVJ Price!" to get a good estimate. TTVJ are very reputable by the way.

I'll try and find a better price for them though.

Alternatively, there is the DT 990 which are pretty much the same as the DT 880 except they sound a bit different. The DT 990 have much more bass (DT 880's have little bass) and are overall more "fun" sounding headphones. The DT 880's reproduce the audio the way it's supposed to sound without changing it much, maybe with a slight emphasis on the treble. I guess that makes them slightly better for gaming. Both are good choices.

Also, going with Beyerdynamic's means you have future upgrading options if you want a better music experience. Adding a good headphone amp will increase both the DT 880 and DT 990's performance a lot.

HeadRoom are also very very reputable.
Now, would I have to buy extra cables to use them for gaming and using them to listen to music?

Nope, just plug them in.

Also, because you're getting pretty high-end headphones I strongly advise you upgrade your source. If it's your computer then something like this would be a huge improvement over the onboard sound on your motherboard:
