I'm looking for a good simple pair but I'm not looking to drop a lot on em'. I am just looking to use them for listening to music/edit when people in the house are asleep. I've got really nice speakers for my new PC but I can't use them at 3 AM .

If you've got an idea of any or know of any with good specs that aren't too outrageous in price please post. I'd prefer black/closed, but whatever you got works. Aslo If you've got numerous choices too that'd be great!

Thanks buddy.
Well, I need a budget or I can't recommend anything.

I don't know, do they make good headphones for under $100?

Aye.

Denon D1000 would be perfect if you could find them under $100. Try jr.com or bluetin.com. I think they have them under $100.

They're comfortable, small and sound awesome.

If you can't find them there, then:

I'm not really concerned about the sound signtaure now that you explain what it is but I would like some headphones that are good for gaming and listening to music when it comes to them being open or closed.

Alright. Well, for $300 you might want to consider Beyerdynamic DT 880's. Walshy has them if that means anything to you, heh. They have great soundstage and accuracy. And as they're Beyerdynamic, their build quality is excellent and they're comfortable.

Their price on the site isn't what they usually charge. Click the "Send me the TTVJ Price!" to get a good estimate. TTVJ are very reputable by the way.

I'll try and find a better price for them though.

Alternatively, there is the DT 990 which are pretty much the same as the DT 880 except they sound a bit different. The DT 990 have much more bass (DT 880's have little bass) and are overall more "fun" sounding headphones. The DT 880's reproduce the audio the way it's supposed to sound without changing it much, maybe with a slight emphasis on the treble. I guess that makes them slightly better for gaming. Both are good choices.

Also, going with Beyerdynamic's means you have future upgrading options if you want a better music experience. Adding a good headphone amp will increase both the DT 880 and DT 990's performance a lot.

HeadRoom are also very very reputable.

"cheaper the better" isn't really a budget. For me $100 is cheap.
