Sup?

1. Budget: <$100

2. Uses percentage (e.g 80% music, 20% gaming): 100% music

3. Music taste: Rock/Metal/Hardcore/Screamo/(some) rap

4. Preferred sound signature (optional, but would help): wat?

5. Open or closed style: I love the look of closed headphones, but I think I rather have open ones (like the apple ear buds, right?), because they're easier to transport and store.

Sennheiser HD555 if you're gaming that much.

Nah, open and closed are features of full-sized headphones. Open means sound leaks in and out, and I'm sure you can figure out what closed means from that lol.

I don't know much about earphones as I have no interest in them, but some well regarded ones are Etymotic ER6i - you can get them from Amazon.

Otherwise you should go with Grado SR80 or Alessandro MS1, if you don't mind them being a little uncomfortable. If you really need comfort, then check out Audio Technica AD700 (from newegg).

Why spend $150 on a pair of headphones, when you can buy a $20 pair that works just fine?
I have bad hearing so everything sounds the same to me too, maybe that's why
:/

Why buy a $800 HDTV when a 14" black and white TV works just fine?

In that case.
Why buy a $400 purse when a $15 one works fine?
Why buy $200 glasses with all these amazing features when $100 work fine.
I see what your saying, but I still don't understand. I mean, headphones all work the same as far as I know. Obviously they have different parts and some work better than others<as far as performance, and cooperating with your computer, and comfort>, but every pair of headphones I've ever used sounded and worked the exact same.

Just my opinion I guess...

They don't work exactly the same at all. Your hearing mustn't be very good because every headphone I've listened to have sounded different.

My hearing is garb.
The best pair of headphones I ever used was a $25 pair of Logitech
Worked great for the time I had them

why buy a 20,000 car when a 200 dollar car runs?

honestly you're argument is flawed. and you rebut scott's post with posts that just help his case.

with more money comes higher quality. end.

some people value high definition video, some people value high fidelity audio.

Based on what you said about Strife's requests, I think I'm also going to go with the HD555's. I found them for $79 on this website named Dakmart, and it's got good reviews on google shopping, so I think I'll buy from there.

He's gaming 50% of the time so Grado's wouldn't be very good.

Don't buy from dakmart.

Well, you can if you want, but you MUST phone them before hand and make sure they actually have the headphones in stock. On the site they will say they have them in stock, but they usually don't. That doesn't stop them from taking your money then waiting weeks to refund you when they tell you the headphones aren't in stock though.
