scott, so what do you think of my final "some day" setup? i think it's full of win.
http://www.amazon.com/Sony-SCD-CE595...5934652&sr=8-1

http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD6...5934730&sr=1-1 (remember, a lot cheaper, and i care more about bright highs/vocals than bass which is why i'm not opting for the 650)

then for the rock spectrum (this will be the last purchase made since i'll be set already and don't know finally if i want these or rs2s)
http://www.amazon.com/Grado-Prestige...934820&sr=1-10

and probably since you said the difference between the darkvoice wasn't too huge, im thinking the zero amp/dac.

Looks good.

Be prepared for some extremely bright highs with those 325i's though.

And yeah, the Zero is really good. I'm very impressed with it, considering how little it costs.

well what will be better for the lower frequencies? the main purpose of purchasing grados would be to suit my hardcore/metal tastes. with the screaming and all, it's mainly lows.

I was just wonder how Turtle Beach headphones stack up, in your mind. I bought the X3's and love them.

Edit: Oh and I don't know if anyones ask you this before but what do you think is the best sound device maker, Sony, JVC, etc.

RS2 if you can find them. Possibly Denon D5000 too -- someone sold their Sony R10's because their modded D5000s sounded so good. Don't know if you saw that thread or not.

Not very well.

And there are no best, just personal preference.

btw, did you hear about the new wireless x4's from tb? basically the same thing as astro without the mixamp, and wireless. :/ idk. depending on their availability, i might buy them from best buy and test them with mine and grenades phones then return em. and theres actually this other dude in our state who has stax omega 2s . might see if he'd be interested at all in a local meet or w/e

Do they still have multiple drivers in each ear cup? If they do they're not even worth checking out because you know they're going to suck.

I really don't understand headphones.
Why spend $150 on a pair of headphones, when you can buy a $20 pair that works just fine?
I have bad hearing so everything sounds the same to me too, maybe that's why

I seen her in a smokey room. The smell of wine and cheap purfume
