Why do you need closed?
Because that's the kind I want. What's the least you can pay for a decent pair?

Edit: I'm really in it for the noise canceling, are there any decent open headphones with sufficient noise canceling?

Ok your headphones are getting a little on the odiferous side from over-use.
What do you do

(A) Spray them with Febreeze
(B) Rub them for a few seconds with a Bounce dryer sheet
(C) Throw them away and buy a new pair
(D) I have no idea what to do.

Anyways I wanted to throw this in - For years and years I used a small wireless PLL FM transmitter that I built form a kit in combination with an FM walkman armband style radio for watching movies and games.
Recently this year I decided to "upgrade" - I bought a pair of 900MHZ wireless headphones that sounded like total garbage. Threw them in the trash. Next I tried a bluetooth wireless set - again, sound was so bad I was getting headaches after listening for a few minutes.

So I threw that away as well, and dug out the old transmitter that I have used since 1998. It has been on 24/7 for 10 years, and it still sounds better than anything I have tried as far as "under $150 wireless".

Okay, I need help. This is kinda off topic but it kinda isn't. My Logitech headset for my PS3 broke today. The plug-in for it is a USB. Would a PC gaming headset work as well for a PS3, since it is also be USB plug-in?

Please cut that sh.t out. Talk like a respectable human being.

I need help with some good closed headphones. I have the JVC marshmallows but they jam the sh.t out of my ears and the slightest movement makes them pop out(sound quality is amazing but they just hurt my ears, some of you guys might have better luck). I primarily listen to the good Ol' oldies so I don't need ridiculous bass but something that still sounds nice. I don't really know how much I want to spend but maybe in the ~$100 range. I seen you said something about D1000's so maybe I'll look into those.

Oh, forgot to add that these will be used outdoors, primarily when mowing and out in the field.

Edit - Would I be better off just finding a good closed pair on Newegg since I'm not a huge audiophile?

Nah you should try and get the D1000s if you can find them. I personally think they're the best closed headphones you can get under $150. Very comfortable too.

I seen these while searching on Amazon. Are these better than the D1000's? They are the same price($98).
