I want EARPHONES as I will be using them to listen to my ipod. My sony ex90's just stopped for working for no f..king reason.

1. Budget - Under 100 usd, but the cheaper the better.

2. Uses percentage - 100% music

3. Music taste - Rock + Rap

4. Preferred sound signature - I like lots of bass.

5. Open or closed style - if this means like noise isolation then I want whichever one means noise isolating, if that isn't what it means then whatever is better is what I want.

1. $150 or less
2. 80% gaming and 20% music/movies
3. Anything but rap and country
4. Surround sound
5. Open

Are the Astro MLG headsets good? If there worth it I might dish out the extra cash.

Thanks.
Can't get surround sound in a headphone unless you get SVS, which is thousands of dollars. Get Audio Technica AD700s.

See above.

I might just put in the first post if you want gaming headphones, get AD700s.

Erm, I'm not sure which IEMs have a lot of bass. Most of the ones I read about have very little. If you could find Super.fi 5 EB (the EB stands for extra bass) used for $100, they would probably be your best choice. Though I usually see them sell for $110-120 used.

You're welcome.

Enjoy your Grado's. If you don't like them, I'll buy them off you.

Which would be better?
I'll be using them for gaming(Halo) and slight music listening(mostly rock).

Sony MDR-XD400 - Closed-Back Studio Monitor Series Headphones

or

AKG K99 Headphones

Next, are they slightly worse/better than the HD 555s?
I'm just trying to save some cash... Thanks.

Both aren't very good. Those K99's just look like a revamped K66, which aren't very good. Not a fan of those Sony's either.

Get the HD555s or Audio Technica AD700s from newegg.com.

which headphones do most people prefer to use for gaming... the HD555s or the AD700s? i know that they cost about the same ($100) on newegg. i also have no problem with wearing a mic around my neck to communicate. i would just like a good set of headphones for primarily gaming (ex. H3 and CoD4) and maybe to listen to music. o and another question i have to ask is what would i need to get if my television doesn't have a headphone jack? tell me what u guys think. thanks a lot.

I was thinking about making my own cmoy amp instead of buying one for 100$... Is it worth the time and money or will the quality be sub-par? I found a nice tutorial and I think i'm up to it (I have past solder experience.)
