Do you throw yours at a concrete wall daily? There's your problem. Stop doing that and I guarantee they'll last a lot longer than your HDTV.

Hey, I bought the Audio-Technica AD700s that you recommended. I'm only really using them for gaming, and the only thing that is really wrong with them is that I cannot hear the air-lift things on Construct in halo. They make a deep resonating type of noise, and the headphones just won't pick them up. >.< Currently I have them connected straight to the audio cables from the 360 using a splitter thing . I'm also using a stereo signal from the 360. Thanks.

By the way: I've also tried running the audio signal through an amp (its like 25 years old though lol), and it still didn't work.

(I PMed you before I saw this thread =o)

You must have owned some sorry ass headphones. My 340/Sextett are both over 30 yrs old!! & work flawlessly..Crappy gaming headphones will probably break with in two yrs..

can your other headphones pick up the air lifting thing? Or your speakers? Running your headphones straight to the 360 is a bad choice.. Analog/stereo is pretty bad.. 360 was specifically made for digital, thats why I use my own DAC/amp when using my 360..

Oh. Ummm I guess I could use the amp, and yeah it does sound better using Dolby stuff. And its kinda weird, I used to be able to hear the lifts through the speakers on my tv, but now I can't =/ Also I can't hear them when using my brother's Sennheiser 280 pro headphones... so maybe its my game or something. Or my 360's audio cables...

Even sub par headphones can pick up detail that TV speakers miss.. Seems like a in game issue.

I need a good pair of headphones that can go portable. From what i've read the px100's are open? Do they leak like any other open headphones? Thats my main worry...should I get px200's? They are closed, but I've heard some bad things about them...thanks for the help scott. Any other suggestions for sub 30-40 portable non IEM headphones are appreciated also.
