Nah, in general Sennheiser's are crap. Out of their 100 or so models, these are the only good ones (in order of how good they are):

PX200
PX100
HD555
HD25
HD595
HD580
HD600
HD650
HE90/HEV90 (they're $4000+ and extremely rare though)

Grado SR60 is the best sounding headphone at that price. However they're pretty uncomfortable. But that can be solved partially by soaking the ear pads in hot water for a few hours.

I use these for my office PC and a Gemini DJ mixer for feeding line outs from two PC's at once.

Its hard to believe that I actually remember thinking that I went a little overboard on these when I bought them. Lol, Im such a noob.

I've just stickied it.

I've just bought one of these:

http://www.darkvoice.com.cn/332.htm

To go with my HD650s that I'm getting soon. From what I've heard the synergy between the two is incredible. Should be fun.

Unlike speakers they don't have to be babied to sound their best..No positioning, or room acoustics to worry about. Easier way to get Hi end sound for cheap.. as a AKG 701 is comparable to 5K speakers.. & a 10,000 Headphone set up is on par with a 50,000 5.1 speaker set up..As for gaming.. Detail. Detail. Detail. speakers can't retrieve that micro detail that headphone can.

Don't they sell for 8,000? The HE60 sell between the 4,000 mark.. & if you include the whole package, the orphues, you are loking at 16,00-25,00 grand..

I dunno, I've seen them on head-fi for 4 grand. Not sure if it was the whole package though.

Yeah..

I read through the entire thread. I agree, the DT880's are great for gaming.. I have the 05 version.. They are the smoothest headphones I own.. & have a out of head presentation where sound seems to be coming from the walls instead of your headphones..HL2 is jaw dropping, & actually creeped me out, when I heard the crab head screams & howls.. They the DT880's are monitor cans, & I found them un involving , & boring for music. They aren't music IMO.. Even thought the DT990 (05) are 'inferior' to the DT880's, I like them better then the DT880's for music.. They are more fun & can have a toe tapping effect. The HR-2 does wonders for the DT90 bass.. Before the bass had no body & was transparent. Not anymore.. My DAC1 drove then like &&&&..
