i think xp and vista are fine i mean xp has never given me a problem except freezing but thats about it i mean i dont have to install certain stuff for other programs either

Absolutely... I use XP as well. I am not the type to say one OS is better than another, they each have their pros/cons. I will always have atleast one linux machine and one XP machine on my network if I can help it. =)

How would I got about install Feisty Fawn from the cd without losing all my music and movies?

Explain your setup. Do you plan on overwriting your Dapper partition?

black XP has got to be the best OS ever. yes its illegal but its like vista without the gayness. and it has all the sh.t you need EVER with a crapload of space left too. its as good as halo 3 *sniffs*
