I'd love to see Mariano blow it. That would be a proper send off to a sh.t stadium.

Too bad the Yankees ended their decade run of making the playoffs the year they take down the stadium.

Anyone that has actually been to Yankee Stadium that is not a die hard Yankees fan realizes that absolutely nothing is being lost. Their moving across the street, not to New Jersey. The old Yankee Stadium was a dump. You couldn't even get a decent meal. There's nothing wrong with the classic $18 hot dog and beer on a sunny afternoon of baseball, but sadly EVERY other park has better amenities and fans should expect more with modern day ticket prices.

Yes I know what you mean. I am an die hard Yankees fan and have been to the stadium twice. And I am no looking forward to next year in the new stadium. New stadium, new memories. Does suck they won't make the playoffs for the 1st time in 13 years but I will be ready next year just like every year ready to cheer on my team.

Does that really have to do with anything? Its a big deal because of what happened in the past at that stadium, the most hosted world series and its homed to one of the greatest franchise teams in the history of baseball. So many memories have been in Yankee stadium and so many legends.

All that history, all those championships, all those legends.

We are leaving that stadium behind.

Yes. The history and memories will still exist for Yankees fans. Now when I make the trek to NY for an O's game I'll have a huge cup holder for my fairly small $9 beer, an opportunity to get there early and have a good lunch/dinner, a little bit of leg room, and an upper deck that passes modern building codes with flying colors. I'm really looking forward to seeing the new stadium. I'm shocked that Yanks fans put up with that dump for as long as they did.
