| Finally, lilrock023 has come back to the Halo 3 Forums! Why am I back after a seven month respite? To bring to those who are interested, the results for the biggest event in sports-entertainment/wrestling year in and year out, WrestleMania 24. (I did this last year and the year before, so I feel it's my responsibility for myself to do it again this year)
This year's WrestleMania was held in front of a freaking gigantic crowd of near 75,000 people in the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Florida. Results:
Pre-Show: 24-Man Battle Royal for a ECW Title Shot Later In The Night - Kane last eliminated Mark Henry. 1.) John Bradshaw Layfield defeated Finlay with Hornswoggle in a Belfast Brawl via a Clothesline from Hell in a decent opener. 2.) Money In The Bank Ladder Match: CM Punk grabbed the briefcase containing a future guaranteed title shot against any champion at any time, to win the best Money In the Bank Ladder Match since it's inception in 2005. 3.) Batista defeated Umaga 4.) ECW Championship Match: Kane squashed champion Chavo Guerrero with a chokeslam in less than 10 seconds to win the ECW Heavyweight Championship.
5.) Career Threatening Match: Shawn Michaels defeated Ric Flair in a Career Threatening Match. As per the stipulations, Flair retired after his loss to HBK. (What a damn amazing match. If Michaels really injured himself in that insane springboard moonsault onto the table, it's a performance that rivals his gutsy performance in 'Mania 14. The match finish and post-match moments, were really emotional and has to be a Top 3 WrestleMania Moment of All Time.) 6.) Playboy BunnyMania Lumberjill Match: Apparently Melina and "The Glamazon" Beth Phoenix defeated Maria Kanellis and Ashley Massaro 7.) WWE Championship Match: Randy Orton retained his WWE Title by pinning John Cena after a Triple H Pedigree. 8.) "The Biggest Athlete In The World vs. The Best Fighter In The World": "Pretty Boy" Floyd "Money" Mayweather knocked out The Big Show with brass knuckles, in a pretty entertaining match. 9.) World Heavyweight Championship Match: The Undertaker made Edge tap out to the MMA Gogoplata to win the World Heavyweight Championship and remain undefeated (16-0) all-time at WrestleManias.
I wasn't expecting much out of this WrestleMania, but it surprised me and delivered a solid, entertaining show. Maybe some of you watched it as well. Maybe some of you here, on the fantastic Halo 3 Forum, were lucky enough to actually attend the event in Orlando! All you guys are invited to discuss last night's going-on's here in this thread. If you don't care about WrestleMania or "fake pro wrasslin", don't come in here posting your ignorant thoughts that do not pertain to the thread...just save your time and leave the thread. I'm tired of debating with you goddamn kids over that stuff countless times on this forum, over and over again. |
