I'm sure you are all awaiting for my reply/recap on the game!

You're not? Oh, well I'll give it anyways. :P

Tennessee deserved to win this game. Plain and simple. They outplayed us on our home floor. We messed up on some crucial plays and as usual Joey Dorsey didn't show up for a big game. I give UTK all the credit in the world for the win. But for all of you Memphis haters that say we are overrated please, let it go.

We didn't shoot 3's good, we didn't shoot inside good, we didn't rebound good, we didn't shoot free throws good yet we only lost by 4. We are a VERY dangerous team if we just play up to our potential. Which we can very well do. Everyone has their bad nights. I don't think either team played their best. But Tenn. stepped it up in the 2nd half.

The refs weren't the best, but what do you expect? Did they cost Memphis the game? Absolutely not. Our loss can only be blamed on ourselves. But it seemed that the refs never called the obvious fouls. They called a lot of "touch" fouls and off the ball fouls. Which really screwed up any momentum either team had going for them. Tennessee would be doing good and some stupid fouls would be called on them. Same for Memphis. Which I think is why both teams found it hard to really get into a rhythm. Tennessee just played through it better.

Memphis did not show up to play. At all. They weren't rebounding like they usually do and they didn't drive near as much as they usually do. Which is why they can be so good a lot. We shot too many 3's which really bit us in the ass late in the game. We were out rebounded 50 - 35 which is horrible.

Honestly this loss is more good than bad for us in my opinion. It was to the #2 team in the country. So it's not like it was a conference loss or anything. I wanted to go into the tournament with 1 loss and the loss being to the #2 team in the country is much better than it being to an unranked conference opponent. The game was mostly bragging rights. Because both teams are going to be high seeds in the tourney. Quite possibly both #1 seeds.

Overall it was an ugly game for the tigers. We didn't take advantage of our leads and played stupid the last minute. It couldn't turn out to be a good loss though. Props to the Vols.

Go Tigers.

butcher, im a memphis fan and u said it perfect. we needed this loss. there's no way id feel comfortable wit memphis bein undefeated goin into the tourney. u cant expect a bunch of 20-year old not to get distracted by the "pursuit of perfection" as ESPN would say (ESPN using the same term as the patriots had like fags).

Butcher and Phikap, you better hope your team learns to shoot free throws before the tournament. They won't beat a 4,3,2,1 seed by that.

well they beat G'town and UConn, two teams definitely worthy of a 3 or 4 seeds

Robert Dozier - 71%
Derrick Rose - 67%
CDR - 66%
Antonio Anderson - 58%
Joey Dorsey - 34%

Those FT %'s need to raise if you want to win versus a #1,2 seed in March.

agreed, thats why this loss is huge....its a real eye opener

i think they'll really work on this now, its good because now they know that they need to improve and to beat the best. this knockdown is critical for the kids on memphis that were riding their high horse through the Conf USA

this loss is perfect
