A Picks Competition anyone can play along. The premise is simple: We pick the winners of every regular season NFL football game. The person who correctly predicts the most winning teams in the winner. Matchups are posted weekly by me or someone else. Here are the rules of the contest and some suggestions to follow in the thread.

1. Please make a simple, easy-to-read post when making your picks. By making your picks posts simple to understand it minimizes the chances of me either miscalculating your score or missing your post altogether. I offer a simple list that should be cut-and-pasted when making your picks, but if you feel the need to personalize, please keep it simple.

2. Your picks must be in before kick-off of each game. Kick off times will be posted in EST time, meaning a 1pm kickoff starts at 10am in California. If your late with your picks, you'll receive an automatic loss for each game you're late on. This way no one's getting an advantage by watching the game and then "accidentally" forgetting to post their picks.

3. Everyone starts off in the "Complete Picks" pile which gives you the opportunity to win the Picks Thread competition. If you miss a week or a few games you will be dropped into the "Incomplete Picks" pile which makes you inelligible to win the competition. This also makes it easier for me to keep track of who's regularly participating and who isn't.

4. If you want to climb out of the "Incomplete Picks" pile you can take an "0-fer". This gives you an automatic loss for every game you missed BUT it puts you back in contention to win the competition. Nothing is certain, so don't feel like you're automatically out of the competition if you miss a few games. You can also keep playing regardless of your standing.

Man, I'm pumped. I can't remember the last time I was this eager for even the pre-season to begin. So many teams made good acquisitions in the off-season this could easily be the most exciting year of football in the last 10 years.

Hopefully the NFC steps it up so the Super Bowl is worth watching.

I'm going to do soo bad. Predict a Bucs win every week :P And they are playing 5 playoffs teams in their first 6 games I believe. AND IM PISSED ABOUT SIMEON!!!! FAAAAAK I wanted someone to groom Gaines

You mean hopefully a mediocre team doesn't get an incredible easy schedule along with their pansy division like the Bears did? I agree.


Hopefully the Bears don't make the playoffs this year.

Pacman Jones, the pro wrestler?

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Just as he has on numerous other occasions Adam "Pacman" Jones made headlines again; however, it's not another run-in with law enforcement.

NewsChannel 5 Sports learned Sunday, that Jones, in the midst of his suspension from the NFL, may be seen in a wrestling ring near you in the coming weeks.

Sources said that Pacman has signed, or will soon sign, a contract with Nashville-based TNA -Total Non-stop Action Wrestling - which is headed by Jeff Jarrett of Hendersonville.

TNA is the same wrestling federation that former Titan, Frank Wycheck, wrestled for some weeks back. Jarrett was out of the country Sunday night, but will be back in Nashville Monday.

Pacman's agent, Michael Hughe, said he could neither confirm nor deny the story.

NFC East is gonna be the toughest division in the NFL. I'll participate in the picks thing. If it wasn't for my biased towards the Redskins I think i could do pretty well.

Everybody has a bias, otherwise you're not a true fan. I know I'll never pick the Panthers to lose.



Anyway I would say the NFC south, but with Vick out it doesn't seem as tough.
