Hey dipsh.t do you know why there is fighting in hockey? To stand up for your teamates, to get your team going, to show the other team to not mess around with your team. In hockey your teamates are your brothers, everyone has everyones back, somebody scums your brother your gonna kick that guy's ass. So don't call fighting in hockey "morons punching each other".

Yes and standing up for your teammates requires you to fight correct? What ever happening to settling things in the game, by playing the game and leaving everything you have on the court/field/rink?

It is a bunch morons punching each other, they waste so much time and only get in 1-3 good blows. Just like a bunch of girls grabbing hair and swinging, but instead of hair its the uniform.

If you got beef with someone you should settle it by out performing them on the field, you're no good to your team on a bench.

If someone cheap shots one of your players and you do nothing about it, you send a message to the other team, they will continue to push you around, so you push back, you kick someones ass and send them a new message. Hockey is different from all sports you can't just settle by scoring, you need to send the message don't f..k with our guys. Then you settle it by putting it away with nasty dangles and sweet sweet goals.

Fighting is a part of the game. And no, it's not barbaric, it's a gentleman's brawl. I've never, ever heard of a serious injury resulting from a fight.

If they cheap shot you , than you go out and do everything you can to win. That's the most important thing, I mean if I got cheap shot I would probably do in turn and cheap shot them, but that's just me.

Send them a message like what? That your stupid enough to give the other team the opportunity to continue to pound on your team while your in the box? That's just stupid, fighting doesn't add anything to the game it's just stupid and should come with more consequences.

When its all said in done, if you beat up someone and your team loses it doesn't matter.

So if someone checks you from behind sending you face first into the boards or if someone takes a cheap shot to one of your players... you won't back them up. Either you are a p.ssy who won't get in a scuffle or you just don't care that much about your team.

By not doing anything, that shows your team that you don't care. How does that build up your team's momentum to win?

If your team is down 5 goals with a minute left in the 3rd and the oppisition has been taking cheap shots, your telling me you wouldn't be mad and retalliate.

YES winning cures everything, but when your down in a game late...you feel like making a statement to that other team for the next time you meet.

I guess you just don't understand, maybe it's because your not a hockey player.

If someone cheap shots a teammate of mine I'm not going to start throwing off my equipmeant and start fighting him.......why would I?

It would be a waste of time and only take me out of the action, I would continue to play the game accordingly and them how to do it.

So getting into a fight builds up your teams momentum? psh really? Fighting or not fighting doesn't effect your ability to win, if you can play you're going to win regardless and not doing anything doesn't mean you'll lose the game.

If anything it increases your chances of winning, especially if your opponent is stupid enough to focus on cheap shotting and trying to intimidate you than it is on actually playing hockey.

That's how an idiot thinks and that's why they would lose.

If you're going to lose it would make sense to take out your frustration, but I always think that no matter what I have a chance to win, even if I'm down big I never give up, and never resort to cheap shotting/fighting in that situation.


If you want to show them something cut the lead to 2 or even 1, that'll mean your capable of beating them and have them rethinking just how CLOSE the game was.
