Well just re-downloaded photoshop cs3, and decided to make a an avatar, and well what do you think? and If I get better at it I'll open an Avy shop

Take off the bevel and emboss. Change the glow on the text and the font. Add a border and lighting.

Really? It looks like there is Bevel & Emboss.

To make a border, go to your Background layer, click Edit > Stroke, make it about 1 or 2 pixels, and make the color black. This should give it a black border.

Yea there is a bevel and imboss didnt know what it was at first and thanks for the min tut on a border, and also can you download pattern overlay backgrounds?

the way i do a boarder, is edit > select all.
create a new layer.
edit > stroke.

then choose your megapixel and color.

Im sure it's possible to use any old texture for a background. But I understand that only certain ones look good.

Google would probably have a few good websites for patterns, or even just their images section might have a few good one
