God answers all cancer patient prayers? How do you know that those people weren't cured normally? Are you asking that if amputees pray to God they will have their limbs restored? God made us human, not starfish.
I still don't understand why this thread is specified about amputees? There are TONS more people worse off in the world. Maybe God is trying to help their situation, either indirectly/directly.

Okay...before I say my few bits...I'm just going to "humanize" God for a second, and see where our logic takes us.

1. A lot of your "rationalizations," while fairly placed, depend on this word "uncomfortable". Yes...I read the rest of the paragraphs...and I will respond to those as necessary.....but ultimately...just because you are "uncomfortable" with a possibility...doesn't necessarily mean that your point was made.

So I will NOT accept all of those "rationalizations" as a valid response to something I have to say...even if it is a repeat of your first post. A few of them should be fine...because we are human, and these are the things we think (hence, rationalization)....but your (the website's) rationalizations do not necessarily dictate truth. FYI.

2. If I were God...I'd tell you all to fix yourdamnselves. Don't get me wrong...I sympathize with the handicapped...mentally or physically....cause both are equally negative...with extreme circumstances on both sides. But as humans learn and evolve with their world....they should be learning things, too.

You know what else God says in the Bible, besides how to wish for something? There are things called "sin"...and "sin" separates an individual from God. Do you know everything about every single amputee out there? Do you know everything about prayer? Or do you quote one passage because it's open for abuse? Do you pick and choose the parts you want to talk about...because you haven't upheld any of the other parts?

^There's a lot of debate about sin, original sin, cardinal sins...amounts and qualities of sins....yet...we all forget that these all imply the EXISTANCE of this sin, no matter which way you look at it.

Especially now-a-days. Sex on TV. The name of Jesus being smeared around as merely a "nice guy", but a complete fool/liar. Presidents are killing millions of civillians.

Wars. Drugs. Hate. Violence. Destruction. Greed.

^You're going to tell me you would WANT to operate in a world that denys you, takes you for granted, blasphemes your name, and ultimately...completely disregards your existance, when you GAVE them that choice??

Look...I'm not here to say that God is human like this........but maybe if you actually had the balls to look at everything around you, and ask yourself "Am I really deserving of any of this?" ....even the misery and sadness of losing your girlfriend, mother, best friend, your dog, your leg....do you really even deserve any of THAT?? Maybe you'd think about your position when compared with God...and what you've done to earn that position...or maybe what you HAVEN'T done.

What makes you so damn special that your question should be held as the priority?

In fact....now that we CAN create artificial limbs...why would God need to use that power anymore...if we're so damn smart?

Let me ask you this....why are you wasting all this precious time trying to deny something that you "know" doesn't exist? If you're truely so enlightened...why are you wasting your time on this? (<-Stolen...I know. Praise Say Anything...lol.)
We obviously don't need his guidance or help, because we're smart enough to do it on our own, and if God doesn't exist....why even bring this up? Why not let those "poor fools" continue down their own road...where they learn of the lack-of-a-God in their own time? Why get into a big argument where it just causes both sides to have even MORE distaste for each other, instead of having a good-hearted conversation about something that will lead to better discussion or results?

Had you ever even thought about any of that...before you opened the dusty book under the shoes in your closet...just to scan the "table of contents" to find out "how to cure an amputee"? (I'm saying you...because you used the Website to express your belief) You want a public spectacle...not a cure...so look up "how do I get God to bend to my will"........you'll find the answer you're REALLY looking for.

Now...if you want my honest rationalization...I think it's because we were not meant to regenerate. At all. Like one of the other guys said...we're human...not starfish. God says that we can ask for anything, yeah. And he'll answer us every time. But maybe that's one thing he "forgot" to mention to you.

If you can't make do with what you have...how are you going to handle an entire kingdom in heaven?

I'm not saying that amputees are any less than me...because they do greater things that some of us fully-capable humans, so why do they need to be healed? Why is it such a bad thing? I'm just saying..."Quit whining." They have, and they're moving past a "human flaw" to make themselves better people.

Don't you and I have flaws, as well? Did you ask God how to fix your over-sarcastic, potty mouth? (I'm not judging you...lol...I'm just pointing out...no one's perfect, whether it be physical or mental.)

I don't honestly think you're out to get these amputees healed...you just want a show. You want obvious proof. Something irrefutable by all that watch...today.

But eventually...the news will wear off...God will say "no" to a few people...and then everyone will be right back where they were in the first place, so it seems to me like this question will just take us in circles, even if it WERE answered to your standard.

There's a difference between helping and serving, and I'm pretty sure that we're supposed to be serving God........not the other way around.

Let me ask you this as well.

What did God tell you when you asked him why he doesn't heal amputees?

Do you know? Would you know if it smacked you in the face?

I think you'd just rather deem it a coincidence...and be done with it.

So...why all the fuss? Why an entire website?

What's the deal with the whole "see rationalization # x" thing?

From what I understand, this is the concept: well, your opponent already countered what you're about to say, so you're not allowed to reiterate what he said when he misquoted you.

The rules of these debates just keep getting better and better, don't they.

If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer. (Matthew 21:21)
Believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. (Mark 11:24).

If people don't believe, ie. if people don't have the faith that their prayers will be answered, then they've doubted God, so God has every right not to answer their prayer.

If God answered their prayers, then their doubt would fade away. There is no reason God shouldn't answer it just because they questioned if it would be answered. He should try and prove them wrong.

Colostomizer, I just read over your post briefly and saw that this guy pretty much covers all the bases when it comes to disproving Christianity. I'm still trying to word out my responses as a Christian, but it's sad, in my opinion, when someone is this bent on trying to ruin faith.

I agree, to some extent. Not all prayers can be answered, and not all prayers should be answered. Personally, I find that I have a rather high percentage of answered prayers. Of course, every one of them was something possible. After all, everything that happens is possible, so if I want something to happen, it makes sense to ask for something possible, even if improbable. Also, I ensure that there is some chaotic factor that could cause my prayer to be answered.

You have the right to doubt if you have no evidence. If G_d is untestable, belief in Him is arbitrary. It shouldn't be held against you.

Anywho, they've got some pretty pwnage things on the market for amputees. They just cost a fortune.

The concept is that you need to address the arguments made against the rationalizations instead of repeating them.

No, God doesn't answer the prayers of every cancer patient. I never said anything of the sort. I'm saying that cancer is never cured through prayer, only "normally." And what does us being human and not starfish have to do with anything? If God is omnipotent as the Bible describes him, it is within His power to restore amputated limbs. If prayer works as the Bible describes it, God has no reason to always refuse the prayers of amputees. And yet, He does. Why?

It's focused on amputees because they're an unambiguous case. The fact that no amputee has ever been healed through prayer would suggest that the Bible is lying in at least several passages, which calls into question its claim about being infallible, which calls into question all of its extraordinary claims.

This is aimed at Christians who would interfere with the rights of others. It's not just about destroying faith because we don't like it.

Oh, so every single amputee who's ever prayed to God didn't really believe? Are you retarded?

That is an excuse for faith, and a crappy one at that. If you're not allowed to doubt, how can you know if you're right?
