No - it's just the way you are, from birth... ask a gay person, they will tell you. You cant just say "I will be _____" and change. You will always be straight or gay at heart, but you may try to hide what you really are due to pressure from an ignorant society. We straight people just dont know what that's like first hand since we're in the majority; Ive never seen any ignorant gay people out there hating on straight people just because theyre straight, or whole societies of gays opposed to straights, so anyone born within that society has to act gay or get their ass kicked. | |||||

Genetics can affect what you believe? I don't know about that. I do agree that people may "believe" in God because of how they were brought up, or because they just fear death and the unknown. Most people just want comfort for what they know nothing about, i.e they want comfort in death. | |||||

Most people brought up Christian aren't really exposed to Atheists or Agnostics. Only to people with other religions, that's why they know so little about these things.
