And just a quick question, how does someone who studies evolution view homosexuality? Is it a negative trait (on the special reproduction level) and can be negated when civilization allows room for such relationships to occur or what?

Just because someone is gay doesn't mean they won't get into Heaven. If Heaven only allowed people who don't sin into Heaven, they Heaven would only have God and Jesus, and some angels in there. It would be pretty empty.

It doesn't hinder their ability to survive, so no, it's not negative. The only thing is that they don't reproduce, but neither do a lot of heterosexuals. One less person isn't going to impact evolution. It's recessive anyway, so it will keep showing up for as long as sexual reproduction exists.

Yes. I don't want some dude coming up to me and asking me if I want to go out on a date or anything along those lines. I've hung out with gay dudes before, and they didn't try sh.t because they had respect.

And no sh.t homosexuality has been around for a while. Some cultures denounced it while others accepted it, but that's not what my question was about.

But on the level of, species is going extinct but a lot of the people left are gay, is it negative to the survival of the species?

Yeah, it would be negative if that were to happen. But considering that they're a minority, it still wouldn't effect it that much. Fortunately, that is not the case with humans. Far from it.

Every mammal on Earth exhibits homosexual behavior in the exact same proportions. Humans included. That's a strong indication that homosexuality is more than simply a choice.

Species that form life long relationships, like turtles and some bonobos, form life long relationships with members of the same sex, rather than doing what their heterosexual counterparts do. Another slam dunk for the "it's not a choice" position.

In many cultures and subcultures, homosexual people DO reproduce. Not with each other, of course, but they will join with someone of the opposite sex to avoid the stigma (or the banishment from society as they know it) of being gay. If a gay gene that is independent of environmental factors does exist, it has a perfectly natural way of expressing itself.

There is more evidence that homosexuality is a combination of what happens in the womb, and what's in your genetic makeup. Being blasted with hormones in the womb can physically alter people. If the correct gene combination exists, than there's a strong chance that I've just explained the mechanism by which homosexual behavior originates (in lay terms, anyway).
