Many of our forefathers' ideals are in that pledge. Saying it helps us remember our rights and freedoms that our early government wanted us to never forget. Disrespecting it is like blowing a load in George Washington's face.

Saying it helps you remember your rights and freedoms? It also takes away your rights and freedoms that George Washington went to war for. I'd say that being forced to say the pledge would be disrespecting what your forefathers wanted.

Also, it could be insulting to people who are atheistic. How do you think they feel?

I think they shouldn't be so uptight about it. Besides, most people are ignoring the most important part of the pledge: "with Liberty and Justice for All".

Liberty literally meaning freedom, which means you're free to choose what you do. So, being forced to say the pledge takes away your liberty...not good. So, we now have the fact that the Pledge of Allegiance takes away your liberty, and infringes on your freedom of religion. Do you think that's what your forefathers wanted for the USA?

I remember when they tried to force the kids at school to say it. A few of my friends and I wouldnt say it. We had to go outside of the class room and stand in the hall because sitting down while everyone was standing was rude.

Then the next year, i had an english teacher that told us we had to. I sat down one day, and she flipped out. She told me that if i dont say it with the rest of hte class i would fail.

Long story short, i got to sit down and i past the class. Fat ......

Nobody is really forced to say the pledge with serious consequences if they don't, if they were it would probably be a court case right away. I think it's just sort of disrespectful to choose not to say the pledge, after all this country has been through to keep freedom alive.

Refused to say it, was punished.

Another person who was disciplined for not saying it.

They're forced to say it by law.

They're being forced to say something they don't believe in. It goes against the very pledge itself if you think about it.
