for those of you who don't believe in God... Why not?

do you really believe the collision of two planets created humans years later? i find it really hard to believe that little unicellular things could evolve into the amazingly complex people we are today.

I don't believe because, as he's been portrayed in the Bible and by other religions, his existence seems implausible and irrational.

Your body evolves from microscopic single-cellular organisms within the course of 9 months, so why can't the universe evolve from something like that within the course of billions of years?

One of the two scenarios seems just a bit more plausible.

I don't believe in God because I have no proof that God is real. If someone can give me proof that god is real, I will believe. But, it would be near impossible to find proof so I will probably never believe in God. I don't believe that humans just popped up and started living. I believe in evolution which is the theroy that makes the most sense to me.

Biological evolution, is descent with modification. This definition encompasses small-scale evolution and large-scale evolution . Evolution helps us to understand the history of life and makes the most sense.

Biological evolution is not simply a matter of change over time. Lots of things change over time: trees lose their leaves, mountain ranges rise and erode, but they aren't examples of biological evolution because they don't involve descent through genetic inheritance.....

The central idea of biological evolution is that all life on Earth shares a common ancestor, just as you and your cousins share a common grandmother/grandfather.

Through the process of descent with modification, the common ancestor of life on Earth gave rise to the fantastic diversity that we see documented in the fossil record and around us today. Evolution means that we're all distant cousins: humans and oak trees, hummingbirds and whales, sharks and monkeys. Humans related to oak-trees, laugh my f..king ass off.

Anyways, to believe in something like G_d with no proof seems a bit silly. Like a child believing in Santa Claus, except that 'Santa' leaves gifts. There's nothing wrong with being open to the posibility of G_d existing, but without any sort of proof, it makes little sense.

G_d should not be used as an excuse for explaining the ways the universe works. That's the lazy way out. Nothing is gained from that; it ignores the question.

Honestly, it's a waste of my time and it's just something I don't need to live my life. If you like religion, great, good for you. I just don't care for it.

Exactly. God should not be used to excuse our ignorance, we should work hard to answer the question at hand instead of answering it with blind faith.

Also, "God" has led to scores upon scores of wars, assassinations, rapes, etc. to either convert or destroy the enemy for blasphemy.

Well this is the reason why I dont like Atheists. They come meet someone that believes in God and it's like there mission to prove that person why they are dumb and idiotic to believe in a higher being. I am not saying that all Atheists are like this, but some are. Some people need to believe in God to give them hope and comfort. I believe in God and I dont appreciate how Atheists try to disprove God. My opinion and dont flame me for it.
