From what I have read, religious wars usually start because people don't understand each other correctly. One religion might think another is going to do something or they believe in something that is complete bulls**t in their eyes but thats not what they really believe in. It starts with not understanding each other, then when it gets bigger and bigger, they don't want to understand each other.
