| | Today we talked about how Jesus died for our sins so we could all go to heaven. I really didn’t get anything out of the lesson; so I asked the question “Since Jesus died for our sins, where did people go when they died before Jesus?” He just looked at me and tried to think of an answer. Than I asked, “If you don’t know where they went, then how can Catholics or anyone for the matter decide if we do go into heaven or someplace else.” He said: “That’s what we call faith. We must have faith; blah blah” and just continued on with the lesson unable to answer my question. This is going to be a fun year.

Posts: 144 | Haha, I love the wise ass's that try to ask the teachers inquisitive "questions" in an attempt to stump them or something. Just to let you know, that teacher has probably taught 100s of class's with kids just like you in them...so it probably did not bother them. Secondly, he probably didn't want to side track the lesson he had planned out to answer a question that has tons of various theorys/kinds. Anywho, if he really didn't know the answer, as you infer (although someone with a very minimal understanding of the bible could have easily answered) then I will answer it. Before Jesus died on the cross, you had to follow the ten commandments to the best of your ability, believe fully in God and the Old Testament, and make a sacrifice each year as a sort of scape goat for you sins.

| | Yeah, I'm sorry to say I agree with Rev haha. There are some Christians that believe that you go heaven immediately after death, and some believe that everyone goes at the same time in the end (because you know, time doesn't matter when you're dead). All has to do with the punctuation. But thats really not what you asked is it... In the Old Testament you followed the commandments and sacrificed animals and such to earn your way in. The New Testament just means you don't have to kill sheep anymore, Jesus took that position of sacrifice. | |||||

| | Nice question. Very stumpable. I'm going to ask that one of these days in my Bible class. I can't wait to see what my teacher says, since he is quite a character.

Also we get off the lesson plan every 5 seconds, one time we started talking about the show everybody loves rymand. I just wanted a response like yours, only (yes) I was trying to prove what he said pretty much wrong. I'm shure a lot of people could answer that only he really doesnt acknowledge any other things.
