I celebrate it because I LOVE the atmosphere. So much love! Presents are cool too, but I mostly like how people are nice to each other (for once).

I'm not an atheist, but I'm not exactly Christian either. That said I celebrate Xmas without all the religious stuff. I just give and receive presents with my family.

December 25th, commonly referred to as Christmas, was, historically NOT Jesus' birthday (if you take the words of the Bible literally, that is). The Romans did not collect, or issue tax increases in the winter. It would be IMPOSSIBLE for them to collect them. It is widely accepted by Christians, AND non-Christians that Jesus was, in fact, NOT born on December 25th. He was born in September of 3 B.C. (http://www.truthortradition.com/modu...rticle&sid=467 - that is a Christian site, by the way) That only holds true if you really believe such a man was ever born.

The exchange of gifts was NOT a Christian tradition, either. It was started by a pagan religion. The fact that Christians exchange gifts at all is absolutely comical. You practice pagan beliefs, but claim to be Christian, and only Christian.

December 25th is when Christians choose to celebrate Jesus' birth. BTW, giving gifts doesn't make you a pagan.

I don't think many people would agree. Giving gifts isn't pagan. Unless the people doing it are actually pagan, that notion is ridiculous. It's like saying you can't take a bath or else it's baptism.

For me it's a family holiday. My family is Lutheran so they celebrate christmas, go to church and all that. I don't celebrate christmas as a religious day, but I participate (unwillingly) with the commercial part of christmas.

Your entire family is hypocritical if thats the case...

..Celebrating Christmas, but only in it for themselves..the only other thing that doesn't make sense besides that is the amount of posts you make a day.
