Marxism, the political philosophy that fuels Communism, was one of the first to adopt Darwin's theory of evolution. Marx and Engels were interested in it, and added it into their own philosophy.

Since Marxism also includes Darwinism in it, no Communist leader who calls himself a Marxist (which almost all do) would ever be religious.

How are these flaws? Religion isn't necessary for a successful country.

Too bad Communism usually doesn't follow his standards. Communist states are led by greedily. And it completely ruins the idea and gives the type of government a bad name.

That can happen to any type of government, it's just always happened to Communism, lol. Well, not really in China. China runs pretty well for a Communist country, but it's not really Communist any more, it's becoming more and more Capitalist.

Awesome generic anti-religious post, I've never heard it before.

Where It Begins: Yeah, China is extremely overpopulated. There are more speakers of Mandarin Chinese than English now. We've been owned by the Changs and Chongs.

WHAT!? Marism and Darwinism can't be more unrelated. Marixism implies that everyone is basically equal, while the Darwin line of thought lends the belief that only the strong survive (you know, like capitalism).

And, if I recall, Great Britain was the first nation to widely accept Darwin's teachings as fact, and teach it in public school.

Communists NEED to be atheist to survive. The reason this is so, is that in order for a communist government to operate, they need the people to have absolutely no alligence higher than the state; and it's precisely for that reason that communism has failed so horribly. The Soviets were heavily religous (like I said earlier, Orthodox Catholic).

Right - I totally understand that. My point is that atheists don't ask for blessings from god, and the Pope. Castro specifically asked the Pope to visit him, and to have god bless him and his country. That doesn't sound like the words of a true atheist. But, it does sound like the words of a political leader, if you get my drift.

Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels wanted a science "part" to their idea of Marxism, so they used Darwin's theory of evolution to create an argument against religion.

I was talking about people whom had adopted Darwin's theory, not nations.

I don't know where this whole part comes from, but yeah, that's right. It wouldn't be completely impossible to be a Communist nation with religious people though (i.e. China), but if the majority of the population is atheist then that would certainly make it easier.

Popes and other religious leaders meet with state leaders often, the Pope most likely thought it'd be a nice gesture to bless Castro and his country. I doubt Castro would ask to be blessed, since he claims to be an atheist and was already excommunicated.
