| To the Religion Debate Section:
I stumbled onto this site a few months ago when a friend from school (NoKTurNaL) gave me a link to it. I posted a little in the Halo General section and occaisonally messed around in the Complete Off-Topic Subforum. A few days after being there I glanced up and Religion Debate caught my eye. Last year we used to debate God, Religion, Evolution, and Politics during my Study Hall so I decided to give this a shot. At first when I came here; when people didn't immediately agree with my view points I began to do some HardCore flame. It was kind of fun to start controversy and get Z and half the mods here but after a while I realized that what I was doing was ridiculous.
I took a few weeks off and came back with a "New" Rev where I was a lot more logical and didn't flame people because of their beliefs. I kept it up for a really long time but I ultimitely got bored with it and just slowly started to flame again (**Last Night**). I was nearing 800 posts when I realized what a waste of time this was. I realized I was changing no ones mind and I wasn't even helping to strengthen my own beliefs anymore. I think that I have done enough at this particular site and need to move on. I would like to thank Rebel for pointing out that God works in mysterious ways and I think I am going to allow him to direct me a different path. I'm going to Church Camp in a few weeks so I'll have tons of time to get closer to him while I am there and find another way to spend my time and energy helping him.
What I am saying is that posting on this site is beneficial, at most, for the first week or 2. After that it has gotten extremely repetitive and if I see MarkedAchilles sig one more time I will probably vomit. I have learned a lot from the regs here, and I have grown a lot in my own faith.
So with my Final 777th Post I would like to pose two last Religion Debates.
For Christians:
Why do you feel the need to continually debate over the internet the same topic for weeks at a time? Do you really believe that you are suddenly going to change their mind? Or do you have some loyalty to your own beliefs and get mad when people Misrepresent them?
For Athiests:
Why do you continually turn down the existence of God when his presence is ever so illuminating? Take a second, to look around at your life. For once just allow your mind to think about what you truly believe in your own heart. You'll be surprised at what you may find. "God does not play dice with the universe" - Albert Einstein
Everything is happening for a reason, don't forget that.
Peace,
I'm out
