That is one of the top ten posts of ALL TIME.

At one point, I thought the world might end, but it ended up being something much less serious and much more totally unexpected. I went on a spontaneous vacation to Georgia on no more than 3 hours notice for a trip of a week or so. I should've known it wouldn't be any obvious answer like doom and destruction

Ah yes.... Those were the days... I learned a lot about myself. If I were to know the world was going to end tomorow, I wouldn't panic. It's easy to say you would or wouldn't, but you don't really know how you'd respond to something like that unless it actually happened.

I say an asteroid, nuclear weapons, or the vacuum metastability disaster, in that order. The last one only makes the list because of it's uber 1337ness and ability to simultaneously destroy every structure in the universe, depending on how the universe is set up.

If it isn't taken out by a meteor, lack of resources, or a nuclear war, then the sun will do its job.

The sun keeps increasing its temperature. Eventually, Earth will be too hot to live on.

Although, the human existance could last even longer if terraforming is a reality.

dude wow, science tells us until the sun grows big and far enough to eat the earth and we will be dead around then or migrate to another galaxy mmmmmm jk but who knows i wont be alive and either will you haha
