see, why question why people think one way about a certain cause, faith, or idea, and then respond with a comment like that

practice what you preach if you want anyone to care about what you have to say, if you want someone to be tolerant of your opinions or beliefs then you should consider doing the same towards theirs, or just continue to retort with posts like that, whatever floats your boat I guess, you arent the only one, so just join the crowd

Faith is not objective by any means, and is the anti-thesis of objective reality.
well, perhaps your own intelligence is measured by your willingness to accept, or not to accept any idea or theories, not even entirely bound to religion, but anything in general

and thats merriam websters thoughts, if that is what intelligence is to you, then cool, but if i am talking to someone about repairing a car motor, their religious preference is the least of my concerns, it wont change the parts, and it wont change the problem, so you can still be knowledgeable, and even intelligent and have faith in something, or even nothing at all

i definitely see your side of the argument and definitely do not entirely disagree, at least you have a legitimate point, unlike some kids around here, note i say kids

EDIT: and i dont mean necessarily your intelligence is measured, but maybe restricted is a better term

True. The chances of a true search for objective knowledge go down . .way down. . .

What was wrong with that post? There are many christans who I have met online and in real life who believe that you don't have morals if you don't believe in God. That's just a fact.

If you were concerned about my generalizing, then yeah, sometimes I get sick of saying "some christians..." and just say "christians"

absolutely, and i think in order to be truly fair to yourself and to society, you have to be...you cant denounce anything necessarily because it conflicts with a story from the bible or whatever book you read, even if people think its sacrilegious or whatever because "hey the bible says this, its right"

i think if you arent open to both ends of the spectrum you really miss out on a lot of things

ok i see more what you are talking about now...i understand completely

i have friends who dont believe in God, or "a God" and they are more morally sound than many christians I know, they just choose not to be christians, or buddhists, or whatever strictly because they dont wish to be, and thats fine too, its nice to know that people still care about themselves regardless if a book suggests they do so in order to gain access to a place that may or may not exist

I don't think reality is 100% objective.

There should be a law that those who do not understand and blasphemously use the word "philosophy" should be stoned to death.

First, there's no philosophy. Second, and this part is important, philosophy is supposed to change. That's how the search and love of wisdom works.

Nice job skirting the issue.

That cannot constitute being called stupid.

Intelligence does not come from religious beliefs.
Though totally irrelevant, you're damn right!

Grow up your beggining to act like an ignorant radical religious person.
Nah, you're just too naive to look into things. You'd be suprised how many and easily people can be tricked into believing in god.
