But, seriously, time does have something to do with contact. The more time you have, the greater chance you have of making contact with something. Yes, there are millions of years still to come, but we've already had a good number of years to have made contact with any extraterrestrial life. (Probably spelled that wrong) If you can be skepitical about Christianity, then I can be skeptical about life on other planets.

We've had, what, a few hundred thousand years?
Do you know how many new species of life are discovered on our
own planet every day? Do you have any idea how truly vast the universe actually is? A few hundred thousand years isn't even enough time for light from most of the objects in our universe to reach our planet, let alone for us to go looking.

There are more galaxies in the universe than there are stars in our galaxy. Again, the speed of light prohibits us from even knowing most of what's out there for longer than the period of time that our solar system has existed.
