"I happen to know for a fact that God does not exist because he came to me recently in a dream and told me so. Initially i was sceptical and surprisingly i even heard myself saying but God if you don't exist how are you talking to me now? and he said "this is a dream you prick". Well i obviously couldn't argue with that so i said, well fair enough but do you at least think i can have that in writing? he said "yeah why not you can take this copy of the Bible" I said what Bible? that's just a blank sheet of paper.

He said "Yeah this is the non fiction version"

im an athiest because:

1. there is'nt proof for or against a god existing, but i require faith in something to believe there is one.

2. i feel like you either need to grow up with faith or have some kind of life-changing event to find faith. i have'nt ever heard of someone growing up without religon and then just accepting it one day.

3. i think many people simply use religon as a support system, like as long as they believe in god every thing will turn out fine. they don't ever question it at all.

4. i personally believe religons are simply someones values attached to a belief in a higher power. why do i have to follow certain guidelines to believe in god? i don't. someone decided that god was a good way to prevent people from doing wrong, so they attached they're personal ideals into a religon to keep people in line. (like the ten commandments )

I agree with you on the personal values and morals part; why can't people simply accept they can have those through their own experiences and translate that to what their personality consists of, not that you were given that through God and that God is helping you be that way.

Religion is a horribly constructed social indoctrination.

If there were a God, it should be regarded as a personal God, one which shouldn't be idolized or prayed to in social meets where all non-religious events partook.

New studies show humans have 94.4% of the same DNA as Chimpanzees, too bad we also have 75% of the same DNA as nematode worms…

I don’t comply with atheism, but I also don’t reject people who do. To me religion is something that whether real or just something that was made in place of early human ignorance, it doesn’t matter. My life, and the actions I have done have been better because of religion.

Yes, I'm sure you just outsmarted all of the scientists who scrutinized Evolution over the past >100 years. They obviously didn't think of that when they made those numbers. >90% of our DNA has NO function; it's garbage; it's useless.

It has also killed many. I help people if it's the right and moral thing to do; I don't need a book or some kind of threat of eternal hell to make me do such things.
