| | No one chooses to be Atheist or chooses to be Hindu, Muslim, or Christian (etc). You can't just wake up in the morning and be like, "Hey, I'm CHristian today." Why? Because in order to be religious your mind has to believe in the philosophy of those religions, or none at all in an Atheist's view. I'm an Atheist because I cannot accept the ideology of religion.

| | A day meant by the Old Testament would have to a billion years, and the order in which everything was created would have to be changed. The Biblical account of creation is completely useless as a philosophy, and as science. It's nothing more than a fairy tale. | |||||

| | That's not what evolution is at all. Evolution is, however, supported by a great deal of physical evidence. We see evolution happening all the time, with thousands of cases observed over the past few decades. Strawman much? Thought so, you pathetic bastard. | |||||

| | It's the exact same thing. All evolution says is that the gradual changes we see generation to generation changes a species, until eventually the species looks like, and is, something different. Consider this: humans that lived 5,000 years ago had more in common with our ancestors that lived 100,000 years ago (both in physical appearance and genetically) than they do with us. Human evolution is speeding up, and the toxins in our atmosphere, the wide variety of foods we eat (as opposed to our ancestors who only ate foods local to them), and exposure to a wide variety of infectious diseases are all contributing factors to the speeding up of our evolution. We really don't look a whole lot like someone who lived 5,000 years ago. They were shorter, had more hair, had thicker skin, and darker skin in general. Human evolution isn't difficult to accept, once you understand it. | |||||
