The point of this thread is the movie. New Line Cinema has changed it in the movie. There are no references to the christain church in the movie, so there fore your point in null and void. You also made the point that watching said movie would influence kids to pick up the books and read them. I can see teenagers reading the books, but children, I cannot. Parents will most likely be accompaning their children to this movie (I dont know many children that can drive/pay for their own movie) and they can judge wether or not to give the child said book IF the child would even want it. I dont know many children that read trilogies either, I certainly had no aspiration to read the starwars books after I saw the movie. |
I hope I made myself clear.
Anyways, Christians are worried about this movie because it is undoubtedly drawing children towards these books which display quite a distorted and immoral message.
I know this from personal experience, as I as a kid 4-5 years ago, I accidentally picked thoes books up from the CHILDRENS SECTION at Chapters.
My parents had no idea that the books contained such twisted content.
THIS IS WHY CHRISTIANS ARE RAISING AWAreneSS.
TO prevent others from falling into the same trap that I did some years ago.
How am I saying my parents don't read?
Talk about twisting the facts...
