Debates aren't about winning; they're about refuting points so that those who have weak arguments can better refine and affirm their own argument or realize a stronger and more logical argument.

I see what your saying and I agree that the sh.t that happened to those new born sons goes against being compassionate but at the same time this Pharaoh had Gods chosen people under brutal slavery for tons of years so I don't know what to think of that and I trust Gods judgment as for what is good and bad more than mine.

That line of thinking is how the Church justified hundreds of years of witch burnings, crusades, and religious persecution.

well let me first say that there was nothing logical about what 'socrates' said. actually this whole jesus and socrates was completely pointless because the author chooses who he wants to come out on top. all that socrates did was use trickery to make it seem like God is terrible and just wants evil for the world. even if you dont believe what the real jesus said is true he still got over half the world to believe him. do you really think socrates would win a real battle over jesus?

"Socrates?" Why was that in quotations? We already stated that his character was portrayed very accurately; I question how much you actually know about the man.

I can agree with that.

Inquiry isn't trickery.

[even if you dont believe what the real jesus said is true he still got over half the world to believe him.[/quote]

Appeal to popularity fallacy. Also, only 33% of the world believes in Christianity.

Yes, being that he was one of the greatest philosophic and critically thinking minds of the existence of humanity.
