Given the number of threads dedicated to recommendations, I decided to create one thread that will cover all bases. This is how it's going to work. I'm going to fire off a list of genres, and you people are going to give me all of your recommendations for said genres. If you feel like you can't fit a band into a genre, talk to me and we'll work it out. I will update the list periodically (we'll say, weekly), and when I do I will delete all of the posts in the thread so that only mine remains, for neatness reasons (so try to get as many recommendations as you can into a post). However, you can also AIM me your recommendations instead, if you would like.

THE FORMAT FOR POSTING A BAND IS AS FOLLOWS: ENTER THE BAND'S NAME, FOLLOWED BY A RECOMMENDED ALBUM (for classical/neoclassical, recommend a work of the composer), FOLLOWED BY THE BAND'S SPECIFIC GENRE (if applicable). EXAMPLES ARE ALREADY LISTED IN EACH SECTION.

As far as album recommendations, it's first come first list, I'm aiming for one band, one album here. If you honestly have such a large objection with the album recommended (and really, it better be a LARGE disagreement), feel free to PM or AIM me. I'd also like to remind everyone that I'm not going to take the time to doublecheck the genres of all these bands I've never heard of or never cared to listen to; it's your responsibility to get the classifications right.

Remember, follow the format or I won't put your recommendation up. Don't put more than one album per band, and try not to name compilation albums.

And as a word of advice...half the sh*t in the rock and punk sections could be considered pop. Also, try to group the genres of long lists of recommendations. I'm doing a lot of copypasta here.
