Clockwork Orange - A and a solid one at that.

Stanley Kubrick at his best. I am not the biggest fan of 2001 but the man makes up for that film and any other tiddely wink film he made in college with this monster of a film.

It is the duality of man in the character of Alex. Anger, violence, love and debachery. It was the V for Vendetta of the 20th century. One filmmakers attempt to illustrate the way he feels the world is heading if we do not change our ways. And many critics and politicians of the time agreed with him and still do. Some see this futuristic like view of ourselves as where we are still heading. The raw violence as a metaphor for war and the wretches in the gangs way as the 3rd world countries that are raped in the same manner as a common street whore. If there is a poke at world (and U.S. especially) politics as blatant as this, I haven't seen one.

Best director, best producer, best screenplay. And all Kubrick. Yes the acting is great in it as well but I believe with stanley at the helm you could of put Paul Walker in there and it would of been amazing.

Oh and I do believe there is a boobie or too in it as well.
Very nice.

I agree for the most part. Great film, amazing directing. That is actually the first Kubrick film I've seen, this makes me want to see more of his work.

By the way, you're a great writer.

Review The Departed! I saw it yesterday and I have to say it was very good, but I want to see what you think since you're the expert.

Oh yeah, I saw Léon and Memento recently too. I must say, Guy Pearce was absolutely brilliant in Memento.

I just remembered, my sister bought The Shining on DVD a while ago, I'll have to get round to watching it.

If you want to send me two movie tickets I will. But I don't go to the theatre unless it is a necessary film to see in the theatre or she makes me. But I will see it eventually, only when it is availible to me for rental.

Leon or "leon the professional" or "the professional" is awesome. Momento is great too.

If you like Memento then you will like:

Pi
Requiem for a Dream
Stay
and if you have major Cojones. . . Mullholland Drive

That is a great list you got there. I can tell you know a lot about your movies. I am going to copy this to notepad and print it out and try to watch some of these. Thanks.

The Omen (2006: B+

Good film. The original I give an A- though. This was pretty much a paper cutout of the original. Obviously the technological aspect of it is improved but honestly by not that much. The only thing I was worried about was the acting. Gregory Peck and Lee Remick are a hard couple to follow up with but Liev Schreiber and Julia stiles did an alright job. Julia stiles did an adequet job of portraying Mrs. Thorn and Liev did an adequet job of Mr. Thorn. Obviously he is not Peck but he is a bit Peckish. It will be marketed as a scarey movie but it is blatantly not a horror film. It is suspense to me and I will fight to move it to that section when it comes out. I really like films that are of demonic possession and end of the world times, I know a bit odd for an atheist but I just like the stories. It really is hard to mess this film up as they copy and pasted from the original and that is why it got such a high mark from me. It only fell short on the acting as the technological aspect made up for that a bit. Good film for a date or a group of people drinking a bit. Or if you are just a fan of movies. If there was a warning to Hollywood that I could give it would be to stop doing this. This was a rare hit on many of misses of the 100's of films they have redone in the last two years at least.

Comming up soon in next two days or so:
The Breakup
American Haunting
Over the Hedge
