Recently obtained Magnolia, The Machinist (which I haven't seen yet), with Shawshank Redemption and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest on the way. For my birthday. Magnolia poster too (love it!). All for the birthday today.

Anyone seen The Machinist? Christian Bale, 2004.

Just watched. Nice psychological thriller. Sorta like Fight Club, except much darker.

Trevor Leznik (Christian "THE MAN" Bale) is an insomniac working at an industrial factory. Some crazy stuff happens eventually leads into a downward spiral of events. He could only find comfort in a peculiar woman at the airport coffeeshop, and a prostitute. His sense of isolation and insomnia, combined with this series of events, make Trevor question his insanity.

No IMDB, how'd I do?

Alright guys, I've been wanting to make this post for a while. This entire summer I've been watching tons of movies, obviously. The huge majority of them are from my brother's DVD collection, but some are torrented. Since I first saw this collection I knew I was going to go nuts on it, so I just decided for kicks to keep track of everything I watch on this huge list taped to my wall. The list started out on just 1 piece of printer paper, but it has now amassed to almost 3 full pages, one single column down the left side. For every movie that stood out I decided to rate out of 10. I really only rated it if I was sure on my rating, I didn't want to just throw out numbers. This summer has been fun, and it was been HUGELY entertaining catching up on all these movies I wasn't mature enough to watch when I was 10. In other words, a movie that doesn't have a rating isn't worse than one that does, I decided on accuracy. Also I might've given a movie a higher score than another movie that I preferred. That's because I was appreciating the cinematography, acting, and etc. when I pretty much judge how I much I like a movie on its plot and how much it 'absorbs' me. I'll also indicate a movie how many times I watched it. Here's the entire list.

American Beauty (x2) -- 9.7
Gladiator
A Beautiful Mind -- 9.5
Million Dollar Baby -- 9
Crash -- 10
The Departed -- 10
No Country For Old Men - 9.2
Waiting...
Flight of the Conchords, Season 1
Spiderman 3 -- 5
Punch-Drunk Love - 6
The Terminal
The Truman Show
Magnolia (x2.5) -- 10
The Prestige
Who Framed Roger Rabbit
Little Miss Sunshine
Contact
Stephen Lynch, Live at the El Rey
Bill Hicks Live
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Ocean's Eleven
Ocean's Twelve
Ocean's Thirteen
Reign Over Me
Traffic
Donnie Darko -- 9.5
Minority Report
Se7en
There Will Be Blood
Boogie Nights
The Shawshank Redemption (x2) -- 10
Fight Club
Oldboy
Wall-E -- 9.5
Forrest Gump
The Simpson's Movie
The Godfather
21
Jumper
The Happening -- 1, lol.
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (x2) -- 10
The Usual Suspects -- 9.4
The Big Lebowski
The Incredibles
Never Back Down
Happy Gilmore
The 40-Year-Old Virgin
Knocked Up
Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
Being John Malkovich
The Dark Knight
Batman
A Clockwork Orange
Pulp Fiction -- 9.5
Reservoir Dogs
