I must have accidently pressed some button in Adobe after effects which gave me a lot of trouble. I'll try to explain the problem as well as I can. For instance, I take some footage and add it to the timeline. Then when I move the "current time indicator" along the timeline, the preview footage doesn't move at all. Not until I let go of the "current time indicator".. What may be the problem? If you didn't understand what I was trying to explain, tell me and I'll try to explain more exactly.

Underneath the video footage you have all those small buttons where you can toggle wireframe, etc., right? Well, Look for the button with a lightning bolt on it and then click it and change the preview mode to "adaptive resolution." Technically speaking, that should solve your problems unless you've got a hardware issue.
