Edit: here are the steps 4. Don't use Overlay 1. Open your Window Media Player and click Options on the Tools menu. 2. On the Performance tab, click on the Advanced... button. 3. Uncheck Use overlays from DVD video, click OK and restart the player. Now you can capture images from any movies played in Windows Media Player using Print Screen (PrintScrn) key (or ALT + PrintScrn key). Once copied, the image can be pasted into Microsoft Paint (Start > All Programs > Accessories > Paint) or other image editor. Posts: 1,142 | Are you using the exact same bitrate on the H.264 and Windows Media screenshots? I don't doubt the results, but it's important to compare apples to apples.

Posts: 39 | I put a x264 704x396 video on youtube (same res as I usually use except not WMV) and I was never offered high quality. The video looks very good and clear on my computer but youtube is either having some server issues or doesnt want to load x264 properly.
