| | RoboSteeze has two tests that compare footage recorded through HDMI vs Component through the Intensity Pro just in case you wanna check them out. He captures Component because of something about color (field*idk forgot what it was lol).. Check this out though: http://www.bluejeanscable.com/articl...icomponent.htm Might answer some of your questions. EDIT: Notice my post count compared to Crest's. That is all. | ||||

| | It's not that they're gonna be messed up. The thing is that Component does something different that HDMI can't do. I don't know what it is exactly, I forgot. Ask Crest or Robo, they know. | ||||

| | I'd go Intensity pro > Intensity > HD-PVR for me atleast. You can do uncompressed or the universally supported Mjpeg format. The Hauppauge uses some strange H.264 format. About Component Vs. HDMI. At 720p there is VERY LITTLE difference. HDMI is digital yes, but it tends to be a slightly lower contrast. Component tends to be alittle more saturated and have slightly more contast. For audio, but HDMI and Optical are digital Meaning there a 99.99% chance you're getting the exact same audio from the source. Also, Generally HDMI sends uncompressed digital video over the connection, however the audio is sometimes compressed.

| | Can you link me to Robo's test? Thanks Crest. The HD-PVR's format could be somewhat trouble some. All I need now is more hard drives... and more RAM... and Vista 64-bit. | |||||

| | HD-SDI > HDMI > Component HDMI vs Component HDMI provides more accurate colors and sharpness. Component is more contrasted. If your deciding between the two know: The Intensity cannot max out Component bandwith, so don't buy thinking that just because HDMI has a higher bandwith it contains more quality data. Regaurdless, I would suggest you go with the Hauppauge.

Well that's a surprise, but I suppose you have much more experience with the Intensity, so now I'm at a predicament. But I'll just think it over... | |||||
