Posts: 264   | What do you guys think about the quality? I compressed in x264 so yeah you need codecs to play it. http://files.filefront.com/QT+x264av.../fileinfo.html And also a question. What's the best way to render in Sony Vegas in a .wmv file? I'm looking for pretty good quality along with decent filesize. Thanks in advance and I'll post up the .wmv quality when i get some advice P.S. - It doesn't have audio since I haven't bought any splitters for the audio cables yet

I would tell you to turn up the brightness just a tad and I mean just a tad no more, cause I noticed some dark spots throughout the clip but very minimal and may not be necessary considering guardian is a somewhat dark map. What do you capture with? Very good quality, nonetheless! EDIT:: Just realized you had a question too. Personally, I wouldn't recommend rendering in Sony Vegas or AAE etc. but with programs made specifically for rendering/compressing. I recommend using Windows Media Encoder, great program, simple to use. x264 is always good, and most people here want that over .wmv. All you need to view an x264 file is a media player that supports it and VLC media player is the way to go. If you want to go to .wmv format, I recommend using Windows Media Encoder to render/compress but x264 is much better if you want to compare the two formats. x264 still maintains the quality while drastically reducing the file size whereas .wmv compression may reduce the file size as well but the quality won't turn out as well. If you get the settings right and what not you can still get a pretty good looking .wmv with a reasonable file size Last edited by DoraTheExplorer; 07-29-2008 at 02:34 AM. | |||||

Posts: 17,026 | Pretty good, but for 3mbps x264... You could brighten it up just a little bit, but it's fine as is. To others, TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress is the best compressing program I've come across.
