De - Interlacing * The Proper Way Introduction Hello, today I am going to make my first thread a more important thread. I will be walking you through a step by step basis on how to get the probably the best quality out of your pinnacle. Now before you go on saying who the hell is this randy. I used to play Call of Duty 4 but now I have switched to Halo 3 due to internet complications with Call of Duty 4. My goal out of this tutorial is to give users a good feel on what quality should be like with your Pinnacle with the MSU Fieldshifter involved (which I will be giving you in the programs content of this tutorial) and making your file a reasonable size. The Programs The programs you need in order to get great quality with the pinnacle are: Studio 11 * which pinnacle provides you with, Virtual Dub (Capturer), HuffyUv (Compression Method), and the MSU Field shifter, Which all can be downloaded in the zip file below. Quality Sample The Settings Alright first off, what you want to do is open up Pinnacle Studio 11, it's the program the capture company provides you with. Then go to Capture > Settings and use these settings:  Then exit studio 11. Capturing 1. Open up Virtual Dub 2. Go to File > Capture AVI 3. Then go to Video > Preview 4. Once you see your xbox go to File > Set Capture file * An easy thing that I always do is Capture them in the same folder which has the MSU Fieldshifter in it. 5. Video > Compression > Huffy 6. Capture > Capture Video 7. Once your done Capturing Stop you should be able to find it. * Note make sure your video source is set to S- Video go to Video > Video Source > S-Video De Interlacing The Proper Way Before we start make sure everything is installed. 1. Open your MSU Fieldshift folder that is in the download content. Extract the video you just captured to the MSU Folder. 2. Open up your Script for MSU and where it says ("videoname.avi") replace it with the name of your clip and make sure it has .avi at the end. 3. Open up Virtual Dub and go to File > Open Video file locate your "Script for MSU.avs" and open it. 4. Go to Video > Compression > Huffy 5. File > Save as Avi Setting an Accurate Filesize Open up vegas, import your de - interlaced clip, then go to File Render As and make sure your Template is default so you do not lose quality from vegas. Make the file type wmv then go to Custom and the rendering quality should be set to preview. Then go to Video > Bit Rate VBR and set the bit rate according to Crests Guide to Setting Accurate Filesizes. * If you want to get rid of those sh.tty 2 pixel bars at the side make sure your aspect ratio is square and youre video size is 700 x 480 (not 720) Special Thanks Crest - Setting an Accurate Filesize Kiwi - Best Quality Possible With all Capture Cards Zitofan - De - Interlace Method Conclusion Well this is my first guide and I would appreciate if you kept the comments positive. I plan on making more in the future. I really didn't go through my grammar mistakes so if there is some I missed im sorry but i'm sure you'll understand. This guide is pretty much the same as the ones above but changed a little bit due to the topic being a pinnacle capture card.

Posts: 693 | Mines a pinnacle 510 I forgot, so that might be why, quality will change with different model types so who knows. And my t.v is sh.t so its good quality for what my t.v gives me. Another reason why I made this guide is because I haven't seen any tutorials for pinnacles yet so I thought I might just post mine.
