how did you get mpeg 4...mine only goes as high as mpeg 2???

and i think your custom settings can be messed around with a little more to get even better quality...

Use Mpeg2 to capture. Much easier to capture, and is more universally used.

I'd use Mpeg2 to edit, then finally encode to .wmv or H.264 for the final video.

What else would it be? Who encodes to lossless or uncompressed for the final version?

LOJiK, you need to lower the brightness quite a bit and up the saturation just a tad. Quality is fine, just fixing those two things will make it a lot better. That would be my advice to you.

Well, it's much better than the first time, but the audio was a little off and I still think mine looks better.

Although, you probably aren't using S-Video, either.
