Intro
This tutorial was made for people who already had this card before Vista came out and they upgraded and are left with a non-working card. As many of you know, Microsoft and ATI will tell you an ATI TV Wonder Pro will not work on any version of Windows Vista. I, however, have managed to find a method that will allow you to. At first I followed Cramesta's tutorial, but it didn't work. So I found my own method.

Disclaimer
I DO NOT guarantee this method will work. My tutorial MAY or MAY NOT work for other versions of the ATI TV Wonder Pro or other versions of Vista. I am NOT held accountable if you spend your life savings just to find out it doesn't work. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work, there is nothing I can do about it. Do NOT contact me with questions regarding this tutorial, I will not respond.

The ATI TV Wonder Pro I am using has the Serial Number 650607014372-01 on a white label on the bottom edge of the box under the TV Tuner Requirements. The disc says ATI Catalyst and it has 200, then 180-V01069-200. I am using Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit.

The Procedure
This procedure may look long, but in reality, it's about 1 minute. I recommend looking it over first, then doing it.
Note: If you can't see the screenshots in Firefox, right-click the image and select View Image.
  1. Install the physical ATI TV Wonder Pro into your computer into an available PCI slot. [Guide] [Video Guide]
  2. Turn the computer on, it should say it found new hardware. It might say it's not compatible with Vista. Just ignore it.
  3. If your using the disc, put it in now. When it asks you what to do, select Open folder or view files. If you're using the download, right-click and select Extract all.

  4. Navigate to Install/WDM_ALL/ and double click Setup and let it run. It will ask you to restart your computer. Select No, I willl restart my computer later, and click Finish.

  5. Go to the Start Menu and right-click Computer, and select Properties
  6. Select Device Manager on the left hand column
  7. Go down and expand Other Devices and you should see Multimedia Video Controller. Right click it, and select Update Driver Software.

  8. Select Browse for driver software on your computer and navigate to Install/WDM_ALL/TVWPro/TVWP_XP.

  9. It will say installing driver software.

  10. When it's done, you can now your use your ATI TV wonder Pro in VirtualDub.

Weird, is it a ATI TV Wonder 550? I know they changed it up a bit. Oh well, good to see a wider variety of tutorials out there!

No, it's an ATI TV Wonder Pro like you have, it's just an updated version since it's newer.

Every time I try to install it says, "Required INF file is missing." It goes onto installing but I'm guessing because of this the drivers never install. I have 0 clue what is wrong.. Please help. Thanks
-Landon

P.S. Although I still have the INF error there is another problem, there is no "Other Devices". I'm sure it's in the PCI bus... It is a TV WONDER 550 as stated directly on the box. It is a newer version because it says, "Vista Compatible.

What about Ati Tv Wonder 650.
I typed in Capture Cards for Windows Vista into google and that was number one or is it an old version of an Ati CC.
