With most of the footage I've bobbed. I go frame by frame in programs like Vdub, and from what I can see is most of the time I see unique images every frame.
How bob deinterlacing works: firstly, it takes even lines from one image of the interlaced video (making it a half resolution image) and then resizing them back to full resolution, producing one frame. Then it does the same thing with odd lines, producing the second frame of the effectively same image.

The reason you see unique frames is because the lines have a slightly different position in the image, making the full frames look different. Bob deinterlaced video is usually postprocessed by removing half of the frames (even or odd frames).

Blending would just mix the two frames together, effectively reducing image quality once again.

Way to spell now, and why not want it to get out? All it does is make everyone's quality a little better to look at.

I tried this and it looked really good. It helped my quality a bit. But which one is better, Bob or MSU?

I understand how it works. But I don't see how it can possibly be only 29.97 frames. Since if a woven frame contains two fields of different images.

You were talking about McBob, could you link me to a page on that?

I read all of my bob info from 100fps.com I assumed an Xbox outputted correctly interlaced video. But with the MSU thing sounds like the fields are off by a 1/60th of a second, Is that what your saying?

It made my file a few .xx MB's bigger, but it made the color better.

Surely assuming you used a bitrate settings it's still below the maximum. So technically doesn't matter. It would still be under a certain size.
